The Birth of the Holy City

[ When the video feed clicks on, Odin appears unenthused, which is saying quite a lot when he typically doesn't look like anything at all. The message is sent to all bracelets after the storm hits, which means the message comes loud and clear to any inside the castle and hazy or disjointed to anyone outside of it. ]

Greetings, Wanderers both new and old. We have spent the duration of your stay seeking answers to what brought you here and what must be done to return you to your worlds intact. While we've made little progress in those specific regards - [ which he again seems rather openly disgruntled about ] - we have made strides in other areas of discovery that may be of interest to you.

It's come to my attention that a number of you have yet to experiment with the powers we've bestowed upon you. Whatever the reason may be, it would be to the benefit of us all if you were better equipped to handle these new magics.

[ You know, in case you need them. For this next part, Odin's typical deadpan somehow manages to flatten even further into something between resignation and begrudging endearment. ]

Tyr took it upon himself to create new facilities for this purpose, but in typical fashion, what is asked for is never enough.

[ The God of Extra. Odin despairs of his younger brother. ]

With his blessings, the Áræði Coliseum is now available for various types of… "training," I suppose we'll call it - foremost among them being Leikrúnhöll, where you can safely practice your magic without risking harm to one another. Please use this space wisely.

[ As in: please use them, and please don't kill each other. It's the literal least he could ask for. ]

Your characters can use this post to ask Odin IC questions about their god powers or anything else they may want to know! There is also an OOC Q&A going on at the same time to ask OOC questions about your god powers. The power mods will be around to try and help you figure out how your spell works, how much magic you can use in one day, or whatever other questions you may have about how the god power mechanic works. It's a hefty beast and we're still learning how to navigate it ourselves, so please don't hesitate to ask if you've got questions! ]

Greetings, Wanderers to Asgard.

[ It's his first address to the network, and Odin looks… the same as ever, to those that are familiar with him. Neutral, deadpanned, here for business. ]

We've received news of trouble beyond Asgard's boundaries. Those of you from Westeros may be familiar with this threat. It seems an army of undead marches upon us.

[ His expression doesn't change, but there's a Pause, an unspoken 'isn't that just terrific.' But he digresses. ]

Asgard was built for the sole purpose of granting the human race a place to exist and thrive within Yggdrasil, away from any danger that may threaten their fragile presence. This is what we are here for, and we will serve our purpose. Asgard will ride out to meet this threat before it nears our kingdom, to save those that we can and put an end to what we can't.

Whether or not the Wanderers join us for this battle is your decision to make jointly. You've been here for some time now under the relative protection of secrecy, as your presence has gone largely unnoticed by the other beings of Yggdrasil.

[ Another pause, because it's important for them to understand this part. ]

Leaving the kingdom will break that secrecy. There are few in this realm whose attention you might want upon you. Remaining hidden may be prudent, especially with new arrivals among you. Make of this what you will, and decide amongst yourselves. You should be safe here within the city. Once we leave Asgard's bounds, nothing is guaranteed.

[ OOC NOTES: this is the NPC post to kick off our event for October! The White Walkers from Game of Thrones are terrorizing the countryside on a path of destruction aimed for Asgard. This post is to ICly discuss whether or not the Wanderers should help in this battle, but it is OOCly presumed that they will. Please feel free to threadjack amongst each other and discuss this between your characters! We will have a top level for threads with the NPCs, but let us know if you'd like to request a specific one in your thread. We currently have: Odin, Skadi, Heimdall, Sigyn, and Honir available for interactions.
